The Stormlord Lagiacrus is a Deviant of the Lagiacrus. It has demonstrated the ability to manipulate the weather around it, bringing violent sea-storms that endanger any seaside settlement it nears.
Physiology
The Stormlord Lagiacrus's hide is a dull, dark blue, bordering on grey, mimicking the color of water on an overcast day. The scales of its underside are a lighter shade of the same color, and resemble grey even more. This natural camouflage makes it difficult to discern in storm-tossed waters until it energizes itself. Thereupon it glows with golden energy: A bright line trails from both sides of its mouth down the length of its body, almost as a meridian line between its darker and lighter scales; its claws, horns, and spines crackle with electricity; and its eyes glow with the same golden energy.
Lightning Breath: The Stormlord visibly inhales, electricity crackling along its mouth and spine. After a few seconds, it breathes a stream of electricity toward an enemy. The Stormlord will steadily sweep its head to readjust its trajectory and hit evasive Hunters.
Roar (Enraged): When entering Rage Mode, the Stormlord briefly charges and inhales. The monster then roars, unleashing a large energy pulse that damages and knocks back nearby Hunters. The roar can still deafen Hunters, as its range extends beyond the energy pulse.
Rolling Thunder: The Stormlord rampages in a direction, spitting lightning orbs in alternating directions. This move borrows from the Royal Ludroth.
Storm's Wrath: The Stormlord cries out at the sky—and thunder booms, almost in reponse. Lightning bolts begin to rain down in a wide area around the Stormlord, randomly and without aim. The Stormlord can only perform this move while enraged.
Tail Swipe: The Stormlord swishes its tail right and left, damaging Hunters and inflicting Waterblight. This move borrows from the Royal Ludroth.
Tuck and Roll: The Stormlord tucks itself into a ball and rolls toward the enemy, attempting to hit it with its dermal spikes. This move borrows from the Gobul.

The Stormlord's rarity has limited any research into it, making it a mystery as how such power, typically seen only in Elder Dragons, could exist in a species that has otherwise demonstrated no similar capacity for it. No conclusions have been drawn whether the Stormlord Lagiacrus is a rare subspecies, a genetic oddity, an unprecedented life stage of all Lagiacrus, or a divergent relative from a common ancestor.
Because of the monster's rarity and the danger it poses, the Hunter's Guild entrusts only proven Hunters with the necessary permits to hunt the Stormlord to best ensure that the creature is dealt with.

Habitat Range
The Stormlord prefers to stay at deep sea, where its ability to induce storms can deal little harm except to sea vessels. This inclination to remain in deep waters makes the monster difficult to track or study, which is further compounded by its storm powers endangering any vessels trying to pursue it.
However, the Stormlord sometimes venture near shore for, as of yet, unknown reasons. It is this time that the monster poses the greatest threat to civilization; its sphere of influence stretches far beyond itself, and its storms can wrack coastal or even "inland" communities from off the coast. It is difficult to discern a Stormlord's work from a natural sea-storm, and sometimes a Stormlord poses little more than a short-lived inconvenience before returning to sea. On rare occasions, the monster may directly attack a settlement, often forcing the inhabitants to abandon their homes and await Hunter intervention. Some communities relocate permanently after this, but repeated attacks are infrequent.
Biological Adaptations
The Stormlord can influence the weather around it and directly control wind, akin to a Amatsu. A permanent storm accompanies it; clouds darken with rain, winds pick up, and the ocean itself begins to roil. How it does this remains a topic of open debate among scholars and Guildmembers.
Behavior
It's difficult to observe the minutiae of the Stormlord's behavior since the creature rarely ever leaves the open sea, but most scholars trust that it behaves much like any Lagiacrus. On those aforementioned rare occasions, however, the Stormlord will come to shore and remain there for days for unknown reasons. Some theorists propose it's some sort of mating display, where its ability to harness storms can be seen to their full effect; but since no one has ever reported there being more than one Stormlord a time in any given place, the theory has little basis.
