Scoistos are very large Neopterons, about the same size as a Glavenus. They have four, large black antennae that are always seen dripping with tar. These antennae turn cherry red when enraged. They have large spikes along their backs, and two large spikes on their rears. Their hides are mostly pitch black, but the patterns on their sides resemble neon lights running down their bodies. These patterns visibly glow in the dark when enraged. Ten of its feet have suction pads that are reddish in color. The six legs near its head do not have suction pads, and are tipped with dark red claws. Its head is bright red, with small orange markings that indicate eyes. They move in a fashion akin to that of a Snake Wyvern, but with their legs moving.
Usually not very hostile towards hunters, Scoistos individuals are often seen grazing on vegetation and devouring Konchu. The only things salvageable after devouring a Konchu are the jaws. They are voracious eaters and can sometimes devour whole trees and decimate Konchu populations. During breeding season, which is once a month, male Scoistos become extremely territorial and often clash with other Scoistos individuals for mates. They use the sludge generated by their antennae to construct nests, and the sludge explodes on contact with hunters when enraged. Their nests are made underground, and the entrance is lined with the tar. Their bodies are lined with a special fluid that has the tar not explode whilst on their bodies.
Frenzied/Apex Behavior[]
These Neopterons can be infected with the Frenzy Virus. When frenzied, the patterns on their bodies get a purple hue, their suction pads turn blue, their heads become a deep shade of violet, and their eyes turn red. The noises they make now fluctuate in pitch randomly.
An Apex Scoistos has markings and suction pads that are now completely purple, but their heads are still violet and their eyes are a darker shade of red.
Items/Carves[]
A Scoistos can be carved four times, have its back, head, body, antennae, and rear broken, and drop an item.
