Sarcarion is a Rooted Wyvern.
Sarcarion is a large, bulky, quadrupedal Rooted Wyvern whose head resembles a maroon-colored Rafflesia arnoldii flower. In the center of the flower is a set of green jaws that resemble the leaves of a Venus flytrap plant. Its body is deep green and stem-like, being cylindrical in shape. Its "legs" are actually large roots that branch out at the ends, giving the impression of having claws. The tail is long, nearly the same length as its body, and is shaped like a human finger. At the base of the tail is a large bell-shaped structure known as a spathe. The spathe is green on the outside and burgundy on the inside.
Sarcarion is known for emitting an odor not unlike rotting flesh from its head and tail. It is capable of spitting large quantities of a highly corrosive sap that can blind an opponent. The petals on its head produces spores that can induce sleep in enemies.
Sarcarion is a parasitic Chloro Wyvern that can be usually be found latched onto its preferred host: trees. By inserting its roots into its host tree, it can absorb nutrients from it. Once its host tree has been drained of nutrients and has died, it detaches itself and searches for a new tree to parasitize. Its movements are sluggish, but it can move fast surprisingly fast when it needs to.
These Chloro Wyverns can be found in the Flooded Forest, Misty Peaks, Jurassic Frontier, Marshlands, Primal Forest, and the Sunken Hollow.
- Sarcarion's name comes from sarco, the Greek word for flesh, and carrion.
- It is based off various carrion (flowers that emit an odor that smells like rotting flesh) flowers such as Amorphophallus titanum and Rafflesia arnoldii.
- Its head can be broken twice and its tail can be severed.
