Physiology[]
Pirhaktor is a large Leviathan which has a body structure like that of its relative, Agnaktor. Pirhaktor have a crest on top of its head shaped like the crest of a Major Mitchell's cockatoo, but it's not feathered and instead has membranes in between its scaled sections. Pirhaktor also has a set of long crocodilian jaws like that of a Metriorhynchus with a beak shaped like that of a kea at the end of these jaws. Its jaws are also filled with needle-like teeth. It also has stripes like an aardwolf across its body. Pirhaktor's body is mainly peru brown in terms of color with its underbelly being sandy brown. The stripes across its body and its beak are colored taupe brown. The membranes in its crest are a desert sand brown in terms of color. Pirhaktor can commonly be found with a sandstone armor covering its body compared to the lava-like armor of Agnaktor.
Behavior[]
Pirhaktor are quite aggressive monsters which have been known to quickly challenge whatever encroaches on its habitat. It quickly gets around its habitat by tunneling through the sand at high speeds.
Ecological Information[]
Placement in Food Chain[]
Pirhaktor have been found to be located at the top of the food chain in the environments that they're known to inhabit due to their large size, strength and abilities.
Behavior towards Other Monsters[]
Pirhaktor are aggressive and will attack small monsters if they wander to close to the Leviathan.
Tracks[]
Pirhaktor can leave behind several kinds of tracks. These tracks include "Large Prints", which can be found on the ground, "Drowsy Substance", which can be found on the ground or on walls, "Sandy Scale", which can be found on the ground, and "Sandstone Chunk", which can be found on the ground or on walls.
Specific Locale Interactions[]
Pirhaktor doesn't have any specific locale interactions.
Special Behaviors[]
Pirhaktor doesn't have any special behaviors.
Cutscene[]
Hunt Cutscene[]
- Location: Sandy Plains
- Synopsis: As the hunter enters Area 9 of the Sandy Plains, they notice several large holes in the sand throughout the area. Suddenly they feel that the ground is starting to shake after which sand starts rising in parts of the area as something is seemingly travelling through it. The moving sand starts going towards the hunter before suddenly stopping. The hunter looks around, confused, until the ground under them starts heavily shaking. They then realize what's going on and quickly leap out of the way followed by something large bursting out of the sand where they were standing. The hunter looks back as the large thing turns towards them which is when they realize it's a monster. The monster starts chomping its jaws which is when the hunter realizes it's the Pirhaktor they have been tasked with hunting. The Pirhaktor roars, marking the start of the hunt.
Ecology Cutscene[]
- Location: Dunes
- Synopsis: The cutscene begins by showing a quiet area of the Dunes with some Apceros walking around. Suddenly, a bunch of small monsters enter the area and seem to be playing with each other. The camera zooms in on the small monsters and reveals it to be a bunch of juvenile Pirhaktor. The Pirhaktor are having fun playing with each other while the Apceros are peacefully eating some vegetation. Suddenly, the Apceros seem to notice something dangerous entering the area and decide to leave. The Pirhaktors look at the Apceros leave before looking in the direction of what scared them off. They notice it's a Cephadrome with a pack of Cephalos which causes the Pirhaktors to bunch together. The Cephadrome and its pack slowly move in on the juvenile Pirhaktors before suddenly the ground starts shaking. The Cephadrome looks around confused until suddenly it gets launched into the air by something hitting it from below. It is then revealed to be an adult Pirhaktor, presumably one of the parents of the juvenile Pirhaktors. The Cephadrome crashes back onto the ground next to its pack after which it slowly gets back up. The adult Pirhaktor roars at the Cephadrome which causes the Cephadrome with its pack to run away. The adult Pirhaktor digs into the ground, followed by its young as the cutscene starts to end.
Abilities[]
Pirhaktor is a large Leviathan with a body structure like that of its relative Agnaktor. This means its fighting style is similar to Agnaktor and other Leviathans. Pirhaktor is also capable of quickly burrowing through the sand of the desert environments it inhabits. This Leviathan is also capable of forming a sort of armor like Agnaktor, but instead of lava it's made of a sort of sandstone. It forms this armor by letting chunks of sand stick to its body thanks to a special substance which also hardens the sand once its attached. Unlike Agnaktor, Pirhaktor's armor can be broken off before it reattaches new sand to its body. Pirhaktor are also capable of shooting out streams of sand towards foes thanks to a special sac in its body in a similar fashion to Nibelsnarf. Finally, Pirhaktor are capable of spitting out a substance that can cause foes or prey to go to sleep.
Rage and Tired States[]
- Rage State: When Pirhaktor becomes enraged, it will start huffing out sandy brown smoke that resembles sand. Its crest will also be fully extended all the time while it's enraged.
- Tired State: When Pirhaktor becomes tired, it will start drooling and it might fail its elemental and status effect attacks. Its crest will also be shortened all the time while it's tired.
Frenzy, Apex, Hyper and Tempered[]
Pirhaktor can be affected by the Frenzy Virus and become Frenzied, but their have been no confirmed reports of Pirhaktor's capable of attaining the Apex State. Pirhaktor can also be found in the Hyper State and Tempered State.
Pirhaktors that are Frenzied have a chance to cause the Frenzy Virus with their elemental attacks and also have the usual changes of a Frenzied monster.
Tempered Pirhaktor are considered Threat Lv2 Tempered Monsters and have the usual changes of a Tempered monster.
Hyper Pirhaktor have the usual changes of a monster in the Hyper State.
Mounts[]
Pirhaktor have the same mount animation as Agnaktor and can be mounted on their head, their back and their tail.
When Pirhaktor is mounted on its head, the hunter will be located at the back of the head, behind the crest and near to where the neck starts. The Pirhaktor will try to get hunters off by violently shaking its head and neck around or by slamming the side of its neck into walls.
When Pirhaktor is mounted on its back, the hunter will be located right on the middle of the Leviathan's back. The Pirhaktor will try to get hunters off by violently shaking its body, by slamming the side of its body into walls or by rolling over the ground.
When Pirhaktor is mounted on its tail, the hunter will be located near the base of the tail, but slightly higher up on the tail. The Pirhaktor will try to get hunters off by violently shaking its tail around or by slamming its tail into walls or the ground.

Name Meaning: Sandstone Sand Snake
Pirhaktor is a large Leviathan that can be seen burrowing through sand and creating large underground tunnels. It's also known to create a sandstone-like armor. It's known to be a relative of Agnaktor.
Habitat Range[]
Pirhaktor have been found to inhabit a plethora of arid environments. These include the Dunes, Desert, Sandy Plains, Wildspire Waste, Dreaded Desert, Crimson Sands, Unyielding Desert, Sabi Sea, Ancient Outback and Cracked Canyon. In times of extreme droughts, Pirhaktor have been known to travel to the Deserted Island.
Ecological Niche[]
Pirhaktor have been found to take a position at the top of the food chain due to their large size and strength. This means they can prey on small monsters like Apceros, Cephalos, Genprey, Hermitaur, Aptonoth, Delex, Kelbi and Kestodon with ease. Larger monsters like Kulu-Ya-Ku, Pukei-Pukei, Great Jaggi, Azulgard, Galbila and Pachalophin are also known to fall prey to this large Leviathan. Occasionally, large strong monsters like Waeopial, Anjanath, Rathian and Barroth may fall prey to the might of this Leviathan.
Pirhaktor have to compete with many strong monsters in their habitats which include the likes of Aquitaivas, Eumurikos, Diablos, Violet Glavenus, Yudenkyuros, Dune Mariellidae, Desert Lagiacrus and Meraze. The Pirhaktor will be sure to stand up to its competitors due to its large size, strength and abilities.
Despite the Pirhaktor's strengths, they have to worry about predatation from Elder Dragon-level monsters, like Tautogoth, Flurreligar and Dustdevil Aviarcta, powerful Deviants, like Bloodbath Diablos and Sanddevil Gajuthanu, and the occasional Elder Dragon. But, the Pirhaktor will fight foes with ferocity if necessary.
Biological Adaptations[]
Pirhaktor are large Leviathans, being slightly larger than their volcanic relatives, Agnaktor. They're capable of quickly burrowing through the sand of their arid environments, but are also capable of tunneling through soft ground of areas like the Deserted Island. When underground, it uses its hearing to locate prey above ground in a fashion akin to Agnaktor or Nibelsnarf. The beak of a Pirhaktor is rather large and very sharp and is used to deliver one quick deadly strike to prey or deter foes. Pirhaktor are capable of firing out a stream of sand towards foes thanks to a special sac it possesses that stores sand. The Pirhaktor also possesses a sac that allows it to spit out a substance which can put prey or foes to sleep. Like Agnaktor, Pirhaktor produce a special substance between their scales which allows the Leviathan to attach large sections of sand to it. This substance also causes the sand to quickly harden and stick together, forming a sandstone-like armor. The Pirhaktor is capable of forming a new armor whenever its old armor gets broken.
Behavior[]
Pirhaktor are quite aggressive Leviathans which are known to attack monsters that dare to encroach on their territory. But, they're known to run away from dangerous threats like a powerful monster or an extreme drought. During the breeding season, mating Pirhaktors are known to create underground caves which they spend large amounts of time in until the female gives live birth. The male and female will then stay with the young until they're capable of fending for their own.

This attack can knock hunters into the air and might cause them to be Stunned once they recover.
- Burrowed Body: After a Pirhaktor has burrowed into the ground, it might only pop out of the ground with its upper torso revealed which can still knock hunters down if they get hit by it.
- Burrowed Claw Swipe: Pirhaktor will try to swipe either of its claws towards a hunter while only its upper torso is out of the ground. This attack can knock hunters down.
- Burrowed Bite: Pirhaktor will try to bite a hunter while only its upper torso is out of the ground. This attack can knock hunters down.

Enraged[]
- Sand Whirlpools: Pirhaktor will burrow into the ground and then repeatedly slightly burst out of the ground before quickly going back into the sand for around two to four times. This will cause small sand whirlpools to appear where the Pirhaktor came out of the ground. If hunters are hit by the Pirhaktor coming out the ground, they can be knocked upwards, and if hunters fall into a sand whirlpool, they can become stuck for a short while unless they manage to escape.
- Boulder Tail: Pirhaktor will slam its tail onto the ground, collecting sand onto it and hardening it with the special substance from between its scales. The Pirhaktor will then swing its tail in a catapult motion towards hunters, throwing several large sandstone rocks towards them. This attack can knock hunters away and cause Earthblight.
- Tunneling Launch: Pirhaktor will first burrow into the ground after which an effect will appear under a hunter similarly to when the Dig attack is done, but when Pirhaktor bursts out of the ground, it will go higher up into the air before burrowing back into the ground once it reaches the ground.
