Pantauros (ウシトラス, Ushitorasu) is a Fanged Beast.
Pantauros resembles a large feline creature with some bovine traits. It has thick light-gold fur, a yellow belly, pale colored legs, faint orange stripes and a thick, brown, lion-like mane around its neck. A pair of curved, gray horns grow from atop its head. Its forelegs have large paws with claws while its hind legs end in hard black hooves. Its tail has a tuft of fur on the end.
Pantauros uses its long tail to whip itself into a rampage. Once it starts charging, it is unable to stop or change course until it hits something, preferably with its horns in hopes of goring its victim.
Pantauros are very temperamental creatures. They usually appear peaceful, unconcerned, and even lazy. However, they may attack anything without warning or apparent reason.
Pantauros have been spotted in the Ancestral Steppe, Heaven's Mount, Jurassic Frontier, and Verdant Hills.

- Infraorder: Bovine Feline Beast
- Family: Pantauros
A large and relatively common species of Fanged Beast. They have a closely related Subspecies called Snow Pantauros. Pantauros are one of the largest Fanged Beasts to date, only dwarfed by the more massive Gammoth.
Pantauros have been seen inhabiting the Ancestral Steppe, Heaven's Mount, Jurassic Frontier, and Verdant Hills in the Old World.
Pantauros is quite high in the food chain and only troubled by Rathalos, Rathian, Nargacuga, Tigrex, Astalos, Glavenus, Seltas Queen, Najarala, Zinogre, and Deviljho. Despite its competition with such formidable predators, Pantauros is rather formidable itself.
Pantauros possess and combines feline and ungulate traits to form a powerful creature. It has sharp claws attached to strong, muscular front legs, which are used to deliver a fatal blow to prey and hunters. It also helps them to climb mountains and rocky terrain. Its back legs sport rock-hard hooves that it uses to deliver kicks that can kill or maim with devastating effect. These muscular limbs even allow Pantauros to jump rather high into the air. By doing so, this allows the Fanged Beast to catch airborne prey by swatting them to the ground with their paws. Their most obvious weapons are the horns that sprout from their heads, which can also be used as a battering ram, effectively using the momentum produced by their weight moving at top speeds of 45 mphs. Pantauros has an exceptionally powerful bite that, in conjunction with its fangs, allow it to break through the shells of armored prey.
Pantauros are very temperamental creatures. They usually appear peaceful, unconcerned, and even lazy. However, they may attack anything without warning or provocation. Females tend to live in groups, which can consist of one female with her calves or several related females with offspring. These groups are led by the oldest female. Multiple groups often come together to socialize. Males leave their group once they reach adulthood, and may live alone or with other males. Adults mostly interact with groups when looking for a mate. It is not uncommon to find a male or two living within a group of females.
- Pantauros's design was based off the character Rei from the manga and anime series Urusei Yatsura. Rei has the ability to transform into an "ushitora," a huge creature resembling a cross between a tiger and a bull. The word "ushitora" appears to be a combination of the Japanese words for cow (ウシ) and tiger (トラ).
- Its name is a combination of the feline genus Panthera and the Greek word tauros.
- Pantauros's horns, front claws, and hooves can be broken.
- When low on stamina, it will trip after charging.
- Pantauros's roar requires HG Earplugs to block.
