The Kaftodon is a Herbivore that herds around in a small group within the Lost Glacier.

Physiology[]

They retain a massive mane and tinges of fur around their body, stripes run all across their body ending in a barbed tail that they can use to attack foes.

Behavior[]

The Kaftodon is less hostile than the Gastodon, yet is also more easily frightened, they in comparison will cower from larger creatures but will charge relentlessly against any foe they see regardless of the distance.

Note: Similarly to how Apceros and Rhenoplos both form a circle when there's a threat, the Kaftodons will curdle together with their fur sticking out to look like a massive ounce of fur sticking out to confuse predators into thinking it's one large creature.

Attacks[]

Charge: They will directly charge at the hunter.

Homing Charge: Unlike the Kestodon and Gastodon, they can poise and auto-aim their charge at hunters even when they are on the move.

Tail Whip: They can whip their tail around which deals a significant amount of damage.

Snowball Toss: It will bash its head into the ground and proceed to force a snowball out of the ground and toss it at the hunter with its head.

Role in the Food Chain[]

Minimal - (Extremely Low) - Low - Average - High - Extremely High - Apex - Legend

Main Prey: Snow Herbs, Berries

Arch-Rivals: Majority of frost predators (mostly Great Zeurros and its Zeurros underlings)

Tracks: N/A

Ecology[]

Habitat Range[]

Found in arctic locations where they're perfectly adapted for the cold climate.

Ecological Niche[]

They're at the bottom of the food chain in the Lost Glacier, occasionally preyed upon by Zeurros, Quanzos and various larger creatures. Unlike creatures such as the Popo however, these herbivores are armed with weapons that can prove deadly to some hunters.

Biological Adaptations[]

Their manes grant them protection during blizzards, armed with a thick spiked skull and a barbed tail, they have various ways to defend themselves from predators such as Zeurros.

Kaftodon
Kaftodon Icon by TheElusiveOne Herbivores related to the likes of Kestodon and live within the borders of the arctic lands. They relentlessly attack anything they percieve as a threat right up until a larger predator arrives, then they will herd and curdle together to hide their bodies and unveil masses of fur to look like one large hairy creature in an attempt to drive off the large-sized intruder.

Notes[]

  • Made due to wanting a frost equivalent of the Kestodon for snow maps.
